"Max Angle" Drifting

There's a large controversy over what exactly a Max Angle drift is. I want to shed some light on that subject.

To many, "Max Angle" means 90 degrees.
To some, "Max Angle" means 89 degrees.

First of all, you are both wrong to apply the term "Maximum Angle" to a set angle. Why do you think things such as 720*, 360*, and 10105010* Degree turns exist? If you wanted to actually label an numeric value as maximum, you are now talking about an Infinite number. Meaning that a 90 Degree turn is nothing more, than a 90 degree turn. Not "Max Angle", unless you are naming the value of 90 to someone or something named Max in some relevance. - For this, you may as well call a 90 degree drift, a Kuroi Drift ;)

Secondly, to those of you who say the maximum angle is 89* degrees because that's how far your wheels will turn - this does not play any role in determining the angle of a CAR which is drifting. Since when was somebody's drift measured on the tire? You may as well use the TV Cameras to zoom in on the tire and watch the bloody piece of rubber slide on the corner, fuck the car. Somebody's Drifting Angle is measured on how far sideways the car has turned from it's original 0* degree position, to the beginning and centers of the apex. You could say:

"His entry angle was 95* degrees, mid point was 50* degrees and he exited with 5* degrees" - This explains the CARs angle at 3 points during a valid drift. If you would not consider angles over 90 degrees to be a drift, you may as well ban half the drivers from D1GP who have validly scored points by doing so.

Yes, the maximum angle your tires can turn is 89 degrees, but the question about drifting is: How far can your CAR turn sideways?

If drifting angle really was based on how far your tires could turn..and drifting is considered to be an art instead of a sport, what would happen if Di-Vinci turned his painting 180*'s around? Is it no longer a painting? Ask yourself that.

Mafia 2 Review

Bought the game last night and Finished it today.

Rating:
Story:
4/10
-The story is no where near as good as Mafia 1's, and even at the very beginning of the game it feels as tho you are being rushed through it, with key elements being left out. There is hardy any time to get to know the characters well other than the ones you do jobs consistently for. To sum it up, the story is just you playing around as a want-to-be / low life thug who finds out the odds and ends of the Mafia business. There is no real major story to it.

Action: 8.5/10
-The game play is fairly good with only a few minor flaws that may frustrate the player. Everything from Fist to Fist, to Gun to Gun battling is very well portrayed, however there are a few parts in the game which are extremely B.S. towards the player if playing on the highest difficulty. I like this, but at the same time you may find yourself re-starting the level a few times before lady luck is back on your side.

Game Quality: 10/10
-The quality of the game seems like it was the center of attention in development. There are almost no bugs or glitches which are highly visible, and only a few very minor things that can go wrong. Overall the entire package is wonderful, with great effects and detail all around the city, and variations of all of them for Day, Evening, Night, Rain, and even Snow.

Driving: 6.5/10
-I found myself not minding the driving, but it is indeed very arcade. Even if your going 100mph and immediately turn 90 degrees sideways, you will find yourself barely sliding at all, and if you apply the brakes at..100mph, you will stop with the force of a train colliding into you. Winter driving seemed to be hardly any different from regular driving, even tho the roads are iced as hell and you see people slipping and falling down everywhere on the sidewalks.

Features:
6.5/10
-I really liked the shops, restaurants, combat moves, ability to rob shops, change your license plates and all the other shit that goes along with that, but there were still many main features that were disappointingly left out: Taxi Rides, Bus Rides, The metro and the train were all left out as means of transportation. The biggest, and major disappointment for me was that they completely left out any form of non-campaign Free-ride mode as they had done in Mafia 1. After you finish the story, you are left with nothing else to do, and not even the ability to roam the city. The city itself is only about the size of Algonquin + Bohan from GTA IV, and they completely left out the countryside from the game, or other area's that could have been used. There is evidence on your map that they may have planned to use these grey area's on the outskirts, but never got around to it.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #2:

Announcement number 2 is something you can reply about here on the chatbox. If you have an honest, and good blog or website about GTA and would like to see it featured on a Server / Website like mine, please say so in the chatbox ------->

Ask anyone you know if they would allow / like me to link their blogs on the new blog which I am creating. I would finally like to link up with the drift community instead of having just the odd visitor who doesn't even read half my posts.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT #1:

Hello to all. I label these next 2 posts as Important because I am gathering information from the drift community, which is you.

First off; I will be creating a Black List. This Black List will operate no differently from the one you found in Need For Speed: Most Wanted, except it will be for the best of the best drifters on SA:MP. That's where you come in.

I will be visiting all of the local drift servers in search for the Top 10, and possibly 15 drivers to be added to this list. If you want to show me what you've got one on one, just contact me via MSN / e-mail. - sameri11k@hotmail.com

Banned from Drift Andreas

So after almost 2 weeks (or so) of not playing or even joining said server, I play it once, and the following day - Post title.

The reason for the ban would be nice to hear, but I'm not suprised it happened.

Holy shit - Music!

Holy shit! The classic 80's band 'The Outfield', most famous for their song entitled "Your Love" which was even featured in Vice City, is now making a new album for 2010! This band kick(s)ed major ass, and I highly recommend you listen to their music if your into classic / rock music from past generations.

Ken Block

Where did all of his fame go all the sudden? Why did you guys stop praising him like a god? What's happened?

oh.

Sorry but you knew I was going to rub this in. Remember all of those "GTA:GYMKHANA KEN BLOCK" video's? How the people of the 'drift community' would put their DP's as him, make mods about him, make their blogs look like his rally car paintjob...ya well that really went far didn't it you pansies.
